Learning Activity 7-B-1 Instructions

1. Take some time to research your state standards for teaching science at your grade level. Select a few standards to share below.
2. Click the Edit tab in the upper-right corner.
3. For the standard(s) you find, complete the following:
   • In the Student Name column, enter your name.
   • In the State Standard column, enter the state standard.
   • In the Comments column, write some general observations about your science standards. Do they mention anything about students' ability to communicate scientific concepts in writing? Are there any that refer directly to writing or any that come close to including literacy skills?

1. Press Save on the Editor bar.
2. Comment on at least one classmate's posting.

To comment on a classmate's work:

1. Click on the Discussion tab in the upper-right corner (next to Edit) at the top of your group's page.
2. Click the New Post button.
3. In the Subject field, enter the name of your classmate followed by "7-B-1 Feedback" (ex. Laura's 7-B-1 Feedback).
4. In the Message field, type in your feedback.
5. Click Post.
